Health Alert - Nitrofurantoin - NEW RESTRICTIONS

Following recent advice from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Chemist On Call Senior Management have carried out a review of advice for certain medicines.

The outcome for the medication Nitrofurantoin has been changed today from ‘Normal duties, report side effects’ to ‘Must be accompanied at all times plus 24 hours after the last dose’ with the additional advice in regard to not driving trains or commercial vehicles and not working at height.

This change has been made by the Chemist On Call senior pharmacist following recent advice from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
